Departments

The College of Health is dedicated to improving human health through interdisciplinary research, innovative education, and meaningful community partnerships. The College addresses pressing health challenges by integrating data science, population health, and community engagement to reduce health disparities and promote well-being locally and globally. Through its three departments, the College equips students with the knowledge, skills, and experience to become leaders in health-related fields and changemakers in the pursuit of health equity.

Biostatistics & Health Data Science
This department advances the use of statistical, computational, and technological methods to solve complex health problems. Faculty conduct cutting-edge research in areas such as bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, infectious disease modeling, and health data visualization, training students to lead in the evolving field of health data science.

Community & Global Health
With a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, this department partners with communities to address the social, environmental, and behavioral factors that shape health. Faculty use qualitative and mixed methods to design and evaluate interventions, focusing on diverse and underserved populations both locally and around the world.

Population Health 
This department studies the health of populations by examining the broad range of factors that influence well-being. Faculty use interdisciplinary research methods to inform policies and programs that prevent disease and promote health, with strengths in areas such as chronic disease, environmental health, mental health, and health policy. Students gain the foundation to pursue careers in public health, medicine, health services, and more.
