Erinn Bacchus
Postdoctoral Research Associate

Erinn Bacchus is a social epidemiologist whose research focuses on health policy related to racial equity, mass incarceration and policing, and the commercial determinants of health. Erinn received her PhD from the CUNY School of Public Health in the Department of Community Health and Health Policy and her MPH in Epidemiology with a certificate in Chronic Disease from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.
Her most recent work has explored the experiences of men incarcerated on Rikers Island and NYC reentry employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also worked with Dr. Nicholas Freudenberg to design modules and host webinars teaching about the commercial determinants of health. Her past work has examined COVID-19 mitigation strategies implemented in U.S. jails, police-related stress among gay and bisexual men, low-income housing in NYC, and single payer advocacy among public health academics.
