On March 20, the College of Health's Institute of Health Policy & Politics presents its spring lecture titled "Where Do We Go From Here? The ACA and Health System Reform in Turbulent Times." Delivering the talk is Daniel Ehlke, Ph.D., MA, an associate professor of health policy and management at the SUNY Downstate School of Public Health.
Ehlke examines health system design and the political forces driving reform. His research spans the U.S. healthcare landscape—including the impact of the Affordable Care Act—and global systems, with a particular focus on the British National Health Service.
A central theme of his work is the tension between healthcare as a fundamental right and the increasing role of medical consumerism. He is the co-editor, with James Morone, of the health policy textbook, Health Politics and Policy (Sixth Ed., 2024).
In-person only. No registration needed.
