Retired Medical Officer Cigna Healthcare
Dr. Patricia Stephenson, MD is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist who devoted over 20 years to clinical practice. She served as the OB/Gyn Department Chairperson of Grandview Hospital and was actively engaged in clinical research trials as a principal investigator.
In 2005 she joined Cigna Healthcare where she was able to pursue her passion to improve women’s health and reduce healthcare disparities. She led physician operations for the US Commercial Healthcare segment and was Clinical Lead North America, Cigna Global Health Benefits. Pat developed and supported CGHB’s clinical medical management teams in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Her interest in global health manifested early in her career through travel to China with the People to People program as an OB/Gyn ambassador of women’s healthcare and to France, Spain and Australia as a TPG-International Health Academy delegate.
Pat was Cigna’s National Medical Officer for Health Equity and represented them as a member of the steering committee of NASDOH (National Alliance to impact the Social Determinates of Health) in Washington, DC.
Dr. Stephenson was in the inaugural class of Lehigh’s 6 year accelerated BA-MD program, earning her undergraduate degree from Lehigh University and her Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
