Dr. Mohamed Saad – Background & Highlights
I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the City University of New York in 2010, with a doctoral thesis focused on data-driven optimization of caregiver schedules in understaffed critical care facilities. My early research and publications primarily addressed Anti-Abduction and Alzheimer’s patient tracking systems.
Currently, I serve at Lehigh University, where I led the development of the Health Data Warehouse (HDW) for the College of Health and the College of Business. The HDW is a secure, high-performance computing environment designed to support faculty and researchers in health data science, AI-driven analytics, and custom software development. Additionally, my research explores the Internet of Behaviors (IoB), where I leverage AI methodologies to analyze temporal health data for predictive modeling and hypothesis testing.
Professional Experience & Contributions
Over the past 15 years, I have made significant contributions across academia, healthcare, and the private sector:
I contributed to the Canadian eCommerce Industry by Developing an AI and machine learning-driven, enterprise-scale, cloud-based data management solution. Led the creation of a Personalized Cloud-Based Offer Engine for customer loyalty and rewards, processing over 4 million association records weekly—a nationwide big data analytics initiative.
Played a key role in financial growth, helping expand eCommerce revenue from $4 million to over $45 million within six years. By building a scalable enterprise infrastructure supporting millions of customers across eCommerce platforms.
Additionally, as an independent entrepreneur, in the Healthcare IT sector, I designed and implemented enterprise systems for healthcare facilities in New Jersey, including St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hackensack Medical Center, and Bellevue City Hospital. Established partnerships with healthcare providers in the Northeast to advance digital transformation in medical data systems.
Academic & Research Contributions
I Served as the Lead Software Engineer and System Architect on multiple NIH-funded projects, particularly those focusing on data-driven models of disease epidemiology.
I worked closely with research faculty to develop complex software solutions that drive scientific discovery.
