Dakota Feldman '24
College of Health Alumna - BS Population Health
Dakota Feldman is a recent graduate of the College of Health’s inaugural class. During her time at Lehigh, she received a Bachelor of Science in Population Health and completed three minors in (1) Global Health, (2) Indigenous Peoples Health, and (3) Health, Medicine, and Society. Outside of the classroom, she was very involved throughout the Lehigh community, integrating herself in athletics, the College of Health, and the Lehigh Office of Admissions. Within the College of Health, Dakota was the inaugural Co-president of the Student Advisory Council, overseeing efforts such as student outreach, events, and being a liaison between the students and the Dean. Dakota was proud to represent Lehigh in the Office of Admissions, becoming an Admission’s Fellow and campus tour guide. For her senior year, Dakota was one of the two students selected to be a Tour Guide Coordinator and oversaw the school’s tour guide program. Additionally, Dakota continued her passion for athletics, competing on both the Club Basketball and Club Lacrosse teams.
Graduating a semester early in December 2023, Dakota used this time to explore her passion for medicine and desire to help others. She volunteered regularly at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem in its Emergency Department, helping wherever needed. Dakota was accepted into the St. Luke’s University Hospital Physician Assistant Observer Program and had the incredible opportunity to shadow physician assistants in various departments, settings (inpatient and outpatient) and hospitals in the area. This opportunity solidified her decision to pursue being a PA.
Dakota is currently taking post-baccalaureate classes and gaining patient care experience and hours. She sees the need for Population Health to be intertwined with everyday medical decisions. She is very excited to serve on the DAC in the Young Alumni role and looks forward to giving back to and continuing to help the College of Health grow.
