Austin W. Duncan is an Assistant Professor of Disability Independence in the College of Health at Lehigh University. He is a medical and disability anthropologist, trained in medical and sociocultural anthropology at the University of Arizona’s School of Anthropology. His work focuses on the social and cultural dimensions of neurodiversity, and how neurological difference and impairment lead to wider health and social disparities through human sociality. He is currently conducting research on the role that qualitative dimensions of social networks play in the lives of individuals living with invisible disabilities.
