Dr. Eric Delmelle is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at Lehigh University. His research focuses on spatial epidemiology, geospatial health data science, and the modeling of health disparities. He applies advanced spatial and spatiotemporal statistical techniques, Bayesian disease mapping, geostatistics, space-time clustering, and machine learning to analyze large-scale health data. Eric is particularly interested in developing rich visual analytics to explore geographic health patterns and uncertainties. His work integrates cartographic design, 3D visualization, and interactive geospatial mapping to enhance public health decision-making. Prior to joining Lehigh, Dr. Delmelle was a Senior Researcher at the Urban Health Collaborative at Drexel University and an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Editorial Roles
Dr. Delmelle is the Editor of Cartography and GIScience (Taylor & Francis) and serves on the editorial boards of Spatial and Spatio-Temporal Epidemiology, Geographical Systems, and Computers, Environment and Urban Systems.
