The College of Health truly values putting their students first and catering to student needs and wants. As a community, we’re able to build eachother up, adapt to emerging opportunities, and create the reputation of our college together. Here, we will be introducing just a few of the many students and what a typical “Day in their Life” may look like as a student in the College of Health.

Meet Kareem Hargrove!

Kareem is a junior getting a dual degree in Population Health & Economics with a Biostatistics minor. “I chose the College of Health because of its commitments to community outreach, engagement, and development. I didn’t want to attend a university that only engaged in community service work but instead, actually collaborated with partners on issues. Additionally, all of the research and experiential learning opportunities the College offers are really attractive. I also wanted to explore healthcare decision-making from a provider point of view to address health equity issues in marginalized communities.” His favorite study spot is his desk in the computational uncertainty lab! Meet Monelli Esfandiary!

Monelli is one of our juniors studying Population Health & Biostatistics. She says she chose the College of Health because, “the COH was a catalyst for my academic successes and passions. I’m so grateful to be a part of a community that values teamwork, meaningful research, and the intersections of health. I’m excited to continue building our reputation as a college!” Her favorite study spot is either her research desk in HST or Linderman Library. Meet Jace Hannah!

Jace is one of our seniors majoring in Population Health with a Biostatistics minor. She chose the College of Health “to gain a well-rounded and interdisciplinary knowledge of all of the fields within Population Health!” Her favorite study spot is the Health, Science and Technology building. She says, “I’m always running into classmates and professors and it’s nice to see familiar faces around campus :)”. To get to know her better, watch Jace Hannah’s Day in the Life post

Meet Molly Smith!

Molly is a sophomore majoring in Community & Global Health with minors in International Relations and Healthy, Policy, & Politics. “I chose the COH because it provides plentiful opportunities and experiences for students to further their knowledge in public health. The College’s partnership with the United Nations partnership interested me, and so did all of the amazing professors. Finally, the college gave me an opportunity to pursue a BA in the health field, which is not something many schools offer,” she said. Her favorite study spot is the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. To get to know her better, check out Molly’s Day in the Life post!

Meet Laxmi Thakkar!

Laxmi is a pre-med student studying Population Health and Biology. She says, “I chose the College of Health because I’m interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, and I felt like the College of Health would help me do that.”  Her favorite study spot on campus is the Health, Science, and Technology building!

Meet Georgia Bromley!

Georgia is one of our juniors in our 4+1 program, for an accelerated Masters degree. She’s majoring in Population Health and minoring in Business. She chose the College of Health “because of the unique opportunity to help establish the foundations of the college. I’m proud of the tight-knit community that we’ve built between the students, professors, and staff.” Her favorite study spot is the 5th floor social side in the Fairchild-Martindale Library.
