2023 College of Health Experiential Learning & Research Symposium

  -

By Esha Soni '24

On September 13th, 2023, the College of Health (COH) held its annual Experiential Learning and Research Symposium in the HST building.

Students who conducted research and projects over the summer months showcased their findings to faculty, staff, and fellow classmates from across campus.

COH professors believe that hands-on relevant research and work are important not only for graduate students and PhD candidates but also for undergraduates, which is why 25% of our undergraduate major course credits are experiential in nature. It is crucial for students to have the opportunity to be able to share their experiential learning outcomes and be able to do so with people who are unfamiliar with the subject. It's not just the learning and research; it's what you do with it and how you communicate it to the public.

The symposium began with Dean Dolan giving opening remarks and congratulating students on their dictated work and research over the summer, which was then followed by guests walking around the community room to look at the students’ posters and get the chance to learn more about each individual's work.
